Tara is without doubt the most beloved female deity in Tibetan Buddhism. In 2013, I wrote a book on Tara called Tara in the Palm of your Hand. A guide to this wonderful meditational deity, it was my first published. Some years later, during an international pandaemic, I decided to write a longer book on Tara. This was my response to the many deeper questions my students have asked me, following the publication of the first Tara book. That ook was concerned mainly with the pracitice of Green Tara as Principal of the 21 Taras, and each of the 21 specific practices.

In this new book, I wanted to go more deeply into Surya Gupta tradition of Tara practice, and to provide some importnat commentaries from this tradition. This book has also given me the opportunity to translate some little-known and beauitful praises and Sadhanas of various forms of Tara.
